Ravishing Raymond Evison Variety: Clematis Josephine

Under Construction

Yet another Gold awarded to Raymond Evison Clematis  in 2011 -- Chelsea Flower Show.

That's Gold every year since 2003.  Sublime Clematis 'Josephine' represented but one outstanding variety among many.

Evison display in bounteous bloom.

An urn formed the centerpiece of the design,

While a tunnel Allée of draped and flowing vines invited you to walk through the exhibit.

  1. Those are some nice clematis - it reminds me of so many varieties of that plant in Denver growing up. Tried some here in Abq, and they seemed to grow well, but those were at least used in a cooler exposure. SO many great garden shows, and Chelsea seems worth attending as a once-in-a-lifetime event!

  2. I didn't go to Chelsea this year but my employers did and I remember them raving about this stand and making hopeful noises about clematis walks...Now I see why they were so excited!

  3. My clematis are still a bit young, and so are not as lush and flowing as these. I look forward to the day when they are. I bet it was a very special feeling to walk through that 'doorway.' The winner clematis is gorgeous!

  6. Oh my, what a wealth of beautiful Clematis! Mine are not doing so well because I clipped them back too much. So, I appreciate seeing them growing so plentifully.
