Alas, the decision not to bring my heavy, albeit, superb Leitz tripod to the Show resulted in many photos that did not meet my standards for posting.
Beautiful pics of the garden show. I like the water gardens. Next weekend is the Mobile Flower Festival. This weekend is the Mobile Botanical Gardens sale and I hope to get me a few new ones.
ReplyDeleteWhat fabulous photo's thank you for sharing these. I can't wait for the RHS Hampton Court Flower Show. I go every year and like you take lots of photo's there.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous photos! I'm so glad you had a good camera... my iPhone absolutely didn't do these gardens justice. I'm sending my readers to you for a good look!
ReplyDeleteSo many great ideas at the garden shows! This was my first year attending one, and I'm really enjoying seeing them in other cities via the blogs! You got some great photos!
ReplyDeleteGreat pics, I love the look of these vertical gardens - such a great thing to do to a wall. I wonder if they are hard to maintain, or how water-wise they are?
ReplyDeleteInteresting stuff here....I better start paddling. With luck I may have got there in time for next year's show!
ReplyDeleteI really like macros and interesting angles, but I can't figure out the first photo. Am I looking down on something or at something on a wall or... is the everyday simply art?
ReplyDeleteI've been fascinated by Patrick Blanc's living walls for years. Now that vertical gardens seem ever more present in design, I, too, wonder much more about their maintenance and water-use. Rebecca was using a lot succulents, but there was other plant material that may have had different requirements.
ReplyDeleteThe first photo is a cascade of water running over the rectangular element. As I mentioned, without a tripod, I was incredibly frustrated with most of my photos - I was at the show all afternoon & eve and didn't want to be carrying my lovely Leitz. I learned my lesson.
I love the wall of green look to the first photo. The dense planting and foliage variety give it an established secret garden look. I wish we had a garden show nearby. It would be great to smell the fresh plantings and blooms, see the different ideas, and view the new plants.
ReplyDeleteI will have to scroll back and see part 1. Beautiful rock work. Love the fountains. I've heard the SF show is the best there is.
ReplyDeleteI am absolutely in LOVE with the "secret door" in the top photo! Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful indeed! Thank you for sharing these with us, the people far away from the Flower&Garden Show!
ReplyDeleteNice work. I lived in Los Angeles for almost 30 years, and had an office in San Francisco for roughly 10 of them.
ReplyDeleteI came across your blog while “blog surfing” using the Next Blog button on the blue Nav Bar located at the top of my blogger.com site. I frequently just travel around looking for other blogs which exist on the Internet, and the various, creative ways in which people express themselves. Thanks for sharing.
