I have a pomegranate tree that is ready to go into the ground. Such an old tree, it is even referred to in the bible (old testament) and yet we are just relatively "beginning" to appreciate its value.
Some of my most vivid memories are of eating pomegranates at holidays, when my Italian-American parents would buy them. They were a very special treat!
I drink a glass of pomegranate juice every day, they reckon it helps keep cholesterol level down. When we were youngsters we would eat them using a pin, picking out each individual segment. Took about two hours to get through it. Alistair
I read somewhere that pomegranite could have been the tree in Paradise that Eve partook from. Interesting.

Pomegranates are tasty! They might make a great substitute for cranberry sauce!
ReplyDeleteI like the illustration that you posted. Never had a pomegranate before, but TS said they are tasty, I might try one.

ReplyDeleteI hope your holiday went well. I recently just started eating pomegranates, and those little things are addictive, and expensive!
