A tender foodie treat: This new variety for 2011 from Renee's Seeds:
Tricolor Carrots 'Circus Circus' is a winner.
We grow it in T's sun-drenched community garden.
We're harvesting small, tender carrots and eating them straight from the plot. I used a macro setting on the camera so they appear full-size. T hasn't had any luck with carrots in the past, but this variety is already producing an extremely abundant crop and it's only July.
I love to grow colorful veggies! This is my first year to have success with carrots. i may plant these tricolor ones next year!
ReplyDeleteMakes me want to try my hand at carrots next year. I haven't been as good with edibles as I have been with ornamentals but your tricolors look wonderful and inspiring.
ReplyDeleteHey Deb,
ReplyDeleteI'd say yes, give them a try!
Bom,
Carrots can be tricky. They need rich, loose loamy soil. Cheers!
I'll keep that in mind for when I get up the courage. Hah! Never thought I'd be afraid of carrots in any manner.
